Great-grandma Lougee shared her thoughts on your Dad's birth day in her family email on Sunday. Lucky for us, your birth day was not nearly that exciting!
This week is
Andy’s birthday – how well I remember when he was born. I had my first
commercial air plane ride; my first experience driving in Wyoming
winter; it was scary waiting for his birth because of the condition that
Bonnie was in. She had placenta privy and we had to wait for her to
start bleeding again. We were told that she could bleed to death within
20 minutes. It would take that long or longer to get to the hospital in
Rock Springs. And then when she started bleeding, Loren picked her up in
his arms and started running out to the car; the steps were ice covered
and so was the roads. I was so afraid that he would slip and fall with
her but the Lord was with them and he got her to the hospital. They had
to take the baby by caesarian birth but because she was hemorrhaging
they wanted to wait until they could get some of her type of blood for a
transfusion. She is O negative and they didn’t have any of that in the
state. I don’t know where they got some from. But the Lord blessed us
again and she and baby Andy came through it okay. So when Andy’s
birthday comes around, I always feel gratitude for his life and the
blessings we received at his birth. Happy Birthday, Andy!
