All this week, you've been staying with Grandma and Grandpa in Bandon. I cannot tell you how incredibly hard it was for me to help Grandpa put you in the car seat in the back of their car last Saturday night! I may have gone into the tent and cried, a lot. But, I think it was good for all of us. We probably should have tried a overnighter somewhere for your first time away from home but you were a trooper!
Grandma posted on Facebook as the week went by. I thought I'd share those posts with you below. They are pretty darn cute.
Monday
A 2 year old's 2 hour nap isn't enough recovery time for a 52 year old.
It isn't all bad, I'm getting another breather. Grandpa Bud, is giving
Dylan a ride, while h mows the back yard. Dylan and his blanket. No
blanket, no go. They are cute, could be cuter, but the puppy doesn't
want to ride. That is probably a good thing. Maybe she won't chew up the
tires and the seat, when it is parked. :)
Tuesday
Oh!No! Dylan has been corrupted. Auntie Jerene has all kind of toys and
goodies. she watched him while I did my Tues. town stuff. Actually I did
about half of my stops with him along. After getting him out 3 or 4
times and holding him in most of the places, my back was done. So off to
Jerenes we went. After about 1-1/2 hrs play and a corn dog :( there is
no nap in sight. Not even a slim hope of one. Time to go blow bubbles
instead :) More fun any way.
More Dylan updates. 2 year olds don't share, they want to wave the wand
themselves, but they are usually looking the wrong way while they do
this. They scream if you try to show them how to do it right or if you
want a turn. I can fix this, gonna buy another wand so I can blow my own
bubbles. He is real good at blowing snot bubbles. Didn't take him any
time at all to learn to that. He thinks it is...
funny when Gramma rolls in the grass, but screams when she try's to
show him how. ( After the rooster incident, I was afraid to keep trying
to show him how. Fraid the neighbors might call the cops). Honest I
wasn't the one yelling and cussing it was all him. 2 year olds also
take naps at the wrong time. Dinner is almost ready and he is asleep in
the hall. Sure is hard being 2. But all is not lost, I now have 4 works
of art on my refrigerator. And the markers are water proof. We both
washed up just fine and so did the table. Ah tomorrow is another day.
Yippee. And the tantrums are of a shorter duration. whee.
Wednesday
This Morning Dylan and I are having a blanket drama. He walked it out to
the laundry room, overseeing its placement in the washer. Was cool with
it until I stepped out to feed Molly. Tried to go back and get it.
Couldn't open the door to the laundry room. Wow does he have lungs.
Sniffles haven't hurt them at all. Pandora, and a couple of books have
distracted him for the moment. Next saga will be it going in the dryer.
We are going to the park while it is in there. Should be really happy
and tired by the time we come back to a clean and warm blanky. That is
the plan. We all know what happens to the best of plans. Here's hoping.
Hey it worked until we got
back in the house. We put it in the dryer together and went to the
park. Played in the tunnels and slides. Brave little bugger. Slides down
on his tummy. Then we went to the Minute cafe, where we split a kids
mini
hotdog meal and a Adult sized chocolate milk shake. He ate about 1/2 of
one of the mini dogs, 5 or 6 fries and nearly 1/2 the milk shake.
Almost fell asleep on the way home, but he decided to wait until he got
home to his blanky. Hah! nearly 3 hours without it. That's 1 for Grandma
:)
Thursday
I want him back. Sitting here at my computer, looking at his little nest. It's empty! :(
My closing thoughts
Well you did pretty darn well. I got home from work this afternoon and realized you looked sicker than I thought you might. I took you in to see the doctor...raging ear infection in your right ear. Darn you...wish you could tell me when your ear has a problem. You didn't pull on it or anything. Anyway, got you some antibiotics...only 2nd time in your whole life you've had to take them. Not too bad I guess! And, I'm so glad to have you home. Love you little guy!
